Reflection #9: 7 ways to improve instruction in writing lessons

The 7 ways to improve instruction in writing lessons:

1. join more teacher training sessions (e.g. writing sessions)
2. allocate more class time for writing lessons
3. encourage students to focus more on the planning and editing process
4. focus less on the accuracy in grammar
5. provide students opportunities to review others’ written works
6. have a clear aim for each written assignment, give students feedback only on the achievement of the aim
7. encourage students to write something they are interested in outside of the classroom
